Mary has naturally curly but very fine hair, which can be difficult to work with. After applying a coffee brown base with finely woven caramel highlights, Todd Snow of Pon International created a mid length style by razor cutting on dry hair.

Cutting dry allows him to see what the hair will do in a straight form otherwise if cut wet, the natural curl tends to pull up on the strands and creates an uneven surface. Before cutting, he applied a cocktail with liberal amounts of Pon International Pon Soon styling cream, Sealant leave in conditioner and Turn it Up styling spray. He blow-dried straight with a round brush but pulled up on the root to create a bit of volume on top. Once completely dry, a flat iron was run through from mid shaft to the ends to add more control. After dry cutting with a razor, he finished the textured bob by piecing with Pon Du soy paste.
To create a controlled curl, Todd applied Elevate root boost and a cocktail of Sealant leave in conditioner, Turn it Up styling spray and Pon Soon all over on clean, towel-dried hair. Next he diffuse-dried to activate her natural curl, then finished with da Flex working spray.
