- Style Evolution According to PON |
 |
| “True beauty
is an evolutionary and ever changing process,” claims Pon Saradeth,
owner of Pon International Salon and Academy in Anaheim Hills, California.
“To stay with one style or color year after year can be stifling.
If you (or your client) find a style or length that is preferred,
by all means stay with aspects
of it, but consider changing the color
a little here and there or even the way the cut is styled from time
to time. It really is about versatility and constant evolution. Most
of my clients don’t want the same thing twice. They opt to do
subtle changes with each cut and add a slight transition in color
for the season. I’m not necessarily talking about something
drastic, but adding a few highlights to softly frame the face, then
perhaps some lowlights during the fall and winter to add depth and
richness. As far as changing the cut, I’m suggesting adding
movement or texturing to the current length. For longer lengths, layers
of some sort are a must have to keep the hair from just lying there.
For shorter styles, one may want to have wispy fringe for one season,
then grow that portion out and blend it with the rest of the cut over
time. Shattered and kicked out ends may be directed under for a change
of pace, then cut blunt to take on a whole new direction and feel.
I tell all of my clients that no matter what their overall style preference,
they shouldn’t be afraid to let their look evolve.” |

| Knowing that
makeovers are not always about drastic changes, Pon and his talent
team at PON International took a subtle approach to style evolution
and created a fresh series of new looks for these budding beauties. |
